A Heritage of Armenian Winemaking

Founded in 1998, Old Bridge Winery stands at the heart of Armenia's ancient winemaking tradition. Our estate spans 5 hectares of vineyards nestled in the Vayots Dzor region, at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,300 metres above sea level — a terroir that imparts remarkable character and depth to every bottle we produce.

The name pays homage to the historic bridge that has connected travellers and traders along the Arpa River for centuries. Like that bridge, our winery has become a meeting point — between tradition and innovation, between the ancient vine and the modern palate.

Armenia's winemaking history stretches back over 6,000 years, making it one of the oldest wine-producing regions on earth. We consider ourselves guardians of this legacy, nurturing indigenous Armenian grape varieties alongside internationally recognised cultivars.

Our Vineyard

The Vayots Dzor region enjoys a continental climate with long, warm summers and cold winters. The significant diurnal temperature variation — warm days, cool nights — slows grape ripening and allows flavour compounds to develop slowly and fully. Our high-altitude vineyards receive abundant sunshine while benefiting from cooling mountain breezes.

We farm 5 hectares of estate vineyards, tending each row by hand. Our soils are a complex mix of volcanic rock and alluvial sediment — mineral-rich and well-drained — contributing the distinctive earthy minerality found in our wines.

Our Process

Every wine is the product of a 24-step process that begins in the vineyard and ends in the bottle. We harvest by hand at optimal ripeness, sort each cluster on the sorting table, and ferment with temperature control to preserve aromatic complexity. Our reds receive careful maceration and are aged in oak before bottling.

We believe in making wines of place — wines that could only come from this valley, this altitude, this soil. Each vintage is a portrait of a year in Vayots Dzor.

Awards & Recognition

Our wines have earned recognition at international competitions, affirming the quality of Armenian viticulture on the world stage. We are proud to see Old Bridge wines on tables in Armenia, Europe, the United States, and beyond.
